Most Black Friday "deals" aren't. When consumer group Which? tracked 2024's discounts, most products were the same price or cheaper at another time of the year. This tracker shows you which is which, so on Friday, November 27 you only buy the real deals.
How it works
- Make your watchlist: what you actually want or need, the usual price, and the most you'll pay.
- Log prices now: every time you see a price, add it to Price Checks. The lowest one flows into your watchlist.
- On the day, type the sale price. The verdict appears instantly: Real deal: buy, Matches lowest price, Above your target: wait, or Was cheaper before.
What's inside
- Watchlist for up to 80 items: usual price, lowest seen, target, sale price, saving and verdict.
- Price Checks log for up to 300 price sightings in the run-up to the sales.
- Budget: a total and a cap per category, money saved vs usual prices, real deals found, "deals" you skipped, and impulse buys.
- Returns: when each order arrived, the last day to return it, and a red warning 3 days before.
- Key dates: Black Friday (Nov 27), Cyber Monday (Nov 30) and Boxing Day (Dec 26), with a countdown.
- Your rights: a plain-English note on Canadian return rights (store policy applies for change of mind), with a returns countdown.
